The ocean currents are the continuous, predictable, directional movements of seawater driven by gravity, wind (Coriolis Effect), and water density differences. Ocean currents move over a long range of water depths with the fastest velocities near the seal surface – ready to be captured by The Ocean Energy Turbine. Many previous attempts of harnessing the energy of ocean current have been focused on installations near or at the seabed where the currents move with a slower velocity. Our concept allows for harnessing energy from the sweet spots of the currents.

An additional element which enables high production time is the fact that most moving parts are constructed as easily-removable parts that can be quickly replaced or serviced whilst at sea. Some services must be conducted when the platform is in service position, raised to floating position. Frequent inspections and cleaning of the turbine and platform will be done by robots as is becoming widespread in offshore industry. The robots can be used both in service position and in submerged position.
